Gender Affirmation Coverage
Marvell’s Anthem Plans have enhanced coverage supporting gender affirmation services, including travel reimbursement. Learn about your benefits, find a surgery center, coordinate multiple service providers, and arrange travel.
Marvell’s Anthem Plans cover the following:

- Male-to-female surgical procedures
- Female-to-male surgical procedures
- Feminization or masculinization procedures
- Aesthetic surgical procedures
- Hormone therapy
- Psychotherapy
- Medical prescriptions
- Travel Reimbursement: If your procedure requires you to travel over 75 miles, the patient and one companion may be reimbursed up to $10,000 for transportation and lodging expenses.
Note: Marvell’s short term disability programs also include coverage for gender affirming services, should you need more than 5 days out of the office to recover from any related procedure.

Fertility Services
Marvell’s Anthem plans do not require a diagnosis of infertility to access reproductive health services, allowing same-sex couples the ability to grow their families through IVF. Growing Your Family
Growing Your Family
Receive assistance from Marvell when growing your family – through enhanced fertility coverage on our Anthem Plans, an adoption reimbursement, or surrogacy reimbursement.
- Fertility Assistance: Marvell’s Anthem Plans have removed the requirement of an infertility diagnosis, allowing same-sex couples to access reproductive assistance through health insurance. For more information on fertility services, please review this flyer call the Member Services number on the back of your member ID card and ask for an Anthem Family Advocate.
- Adoption: Employees are eligible for an adoption reimbursement of $10,000 per child. Learn more here.
- Surrogacy: Receive up to $10,000 per year towards surrogacy expenses. Learn more here.
- Paid Leave: Whether you are the birthing or non-birthing parent, you are eligible for 12 weeks of paid leave to care for and bond with your new family member.
- Flexible Return To Work: Employees who are returning to work from their first instance of Bonding Leave following the birth, adoption or foster care placement of a child will have the opportunity to return to work at a reduced schedule for up to four weeks. Mental Health: Lyra Health
All employees and their dependents have access to counseling and coaching through Lyra Health. Get connected with a coach or therapist with expertise in working with those that identify as LGBTQIA.
- 24/7 Help Line: When you or a loved one needs assistance, having to make and wait on an appointment to talk to someone is the last thing you want to do. When you call Lyra Health, a Care Navigator is available for you 24/7, every day of the year.
- Join an upcoming Gather by Lyra, a expert facilitated, small group peer discussion session. Gatherings foster sharing among individuals who have a common interest, identity, or concern and focus on topics at the intersection of social identity, mental health, and work.
- Register at learn.lyrahealth.com with company code @marvell481 to view a calendar of upcoming Gather sessions and to reserve your spot.
- Meet with a Lyra coach to get to the root of your challenges, gain new insights, and see things through a new lens. Between sessions, your coach will give you activities and strategies to help you build on what you learn and is available for you to message if anything comes up. As new challenges arise, you can discuss them with your coach and come up with strategies for lasting change. Employees and family members 18+ have access to 12 coaching or therapy sessions each year.

- Connect with a Lyra therapist who will diagnose your condition and identify thoughts, behaviors, and strong emotions that can lead to severe depression, eating disorders, or PTSD. Each session, your therapist will introduce new skills with exercises and lessons so you can build tools to find lasting change and feel more like yourself again. Employees and family members 0+ have access to 12 coaching or therapy sessions each year.
- If you’re enrolled in one of Marvell’s Anthem plans, additional therapy visits beyond your 12 free sessions will be covered like any other in-network, outpatient mental health visit. View the chart on the Anthem page and refer to in-network outpatient behavioral health for your Anthem plan.

Lyra’s Providers: Lyra Health works only with providers who practice evidence-based techniques (therapies that have been rigorously tested in scientific studies and proven to work). Evidence-based therapies include:

- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
Legal Insurance: LegalEASE
When enrolled in Marvell’s legal benefit through LegalEASE, employees receive fully paid legal services on many common legal matters as well as 10 hours of annual miscellaneous coverage, which can be used for legal services including: domestic partnership agreements, gender identifier changes, surrogacy representation, same-sex adoption, stalking victim assistance/ domestic violence protection, marriage, and other family legal matters. Use 2nd.MD to find a local specialist who understands the unique needs and challenges of the LGBTQIA community. 2nd.MD, Marvell’s partner for providing second opinions for medical diagnosis as well as finding specialists, is free for employees and their dependents, including parents and siblings.
