CRITICAL ILLNESS INSURANCE
Critical illness insurance works to complement your medical coverage—and pays in addition to what your medical plan may or may not cover. It is coverage that provides financial support when you or a loved one becomes seriously ill. Upon diagnosis of a covered illness, it provides you with a lump-sum payment of $15,000 or $30,000 in initial benefits. The payment you receive is yours to spend however you like. Before enrolling in critical illness insurance, it’s important to understand the limitations of the plan. Only certain conditions are considered covered conditions, the plan does not pay for all illnesses. Please carefully review the plan information before you enroll so you can understand if critical illness coverage is right for your family’s financial plan.
You can only enroll for the Critical Illness plan as a new hire, a Qualified Life Event, or during Open Enrollment for the following calendar year.
