Family Care Week is Marvell’s annual event where we celebrate the most important part of our lives: FAMILY! During the week, we will be sharing resources available to support you and your family through many different phases of life. All events are open so anyone in your immediate family can join our live sessions as well as browse our on-demand resources. Hosting Family Care Week is one more way we are Supporting a Healthy You!

We understand that everyone leads busy lives, so this year, we’re providing shorter on-demand content to accommodate your schedule. During Family Care Week you can learn about resources and perks that are available to you and your family, whether you have a spouse or partner, child(ren), fur baby or are a caretaker; there's something for everyone!

Monday, July 29 10-11am PDT	Adolescent Mental Health (Family) Hosted by Lyra Adolescence is a time of change, growth, and learning—posing many new challenges to both   teens and parents. This workshop will provide parents with a strong foundation to understand normative adolescent development and behaviors and when it is time to intervene and get help from a trained professional. We will also learn and practice specific, concrete skills to improve   your communication with your adolescent, manage unwanted behaviors, and increase your family’s overall quality of life. Once you are armed with the necessary knowledge and strategies to parent your teen effectively, you will increase your overall well-being and ability to enjoy your child’s unique personality. Workshop Handout *Presenter Bio:* Shannon Bennett, Ph.D. is Assistant Professor of Psychology in Clinical Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College and an Attending Psychologist at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Bennett serves as the Site Clinical Director of the New York Presbyterian Hospital Youth Anxiety Center at Weill Cornell Medicine, and the Director of the Tourette Syndrome Center of Excellence at Weill Cornell. As a licensed clinical psychologist, Dr. Bennett works with children, adolescents, adults and families suffering from anxiety, tics, OCD and related conditions. She also teaches, writes, and presents internationally on these topics. Dr. Bennett contributed to several cognitive-behavioral treatment research programs at the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders at Boston University, and was a Co-Founder and Associate Director of the Pediatric Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Intensive Treatment Program at UCLA before joining the faculty at Weill Cornell Medicine. Dr. Bennett also led a multi-disciplinary research team focused on the psychosocial needs of women who experience perinatal loss, and earned a National Research Service Award for this research effort. Dr. Bennett has been honored with a Career Development Leadership Award from the Anxiety and Depression Association of America and serves on the Medical Advisory Board for the Tourette Syndrome Association. Wednesday, July 31 11am - 12pm PDT	Thriving: The Science of the Good Life (You) Hosted by Lyra When life feels dull, it’s easy to feel checked out—like we’re all just going through the motions.   But how do we move forward? The path to more joy and fulfillment is found in positive psychology, or the study of how humans thrive. In this workshop, we’ll share science-backed strategies for thriving, or living your best life—including practical ways to bring more balance, purpose, and joy into your day-to-day routine. Because the good life doesn’t magically happen, it’s intentionally built. Dr. Madlock’s interests are working with pregnant and postpartum individuals and couples, racial identity/race-based trauma and mindfulness. Dr. Madlock completed her graduate training at The George Washington University. She has worked in various mental health settings, from community based care to large medical settings such as Kaiser Permanente and the VA Health Care System with individuals from diverse clinical and cultural communities. Prior to entering the field of clinical psychology, Dr. Madlock worked in K-12 educator sector as a special education teacher, training specialist, and program director. Friday, August 2 11am - 12pm PDT	Helping the Helpers: Combating Compassion Fatigue (Caregiver) Hosted by Lyra People in job roles that support the well-being of others are providing a noble service, but that service can take a toll. Compassion fatigue can be the cost of helping people through their personal or professional challenges over an extended period of time—particularly when providing that support amidst the turbulence of a global pandemic. Fortunately, compassion fatigue is neither inevitable nor untreatable. This workshop will explain what compassion fatigue is, how it develops, and most importantly, how to combat it via practical, evidence-based strategies that encourage resilience, boundaries, and prioritizing your mental and physical health. With these tools, you’ll be equipped to prevent or reverse compassion fatigue no matter where you are on your journey. Workshop handout Presenter Bio: Dr. Diana Partovi is a clinical neuropsychologist and Founder of California Neuropsychology Services. She received her clinical training at the VA Health Care System and UCSF. She specializes in the assessment of cognitive difficulties with experience providing interventions for mood disorders, PTSD, traumatic brain injury and other neurological disorders.
