BENEFITS UPDATES
You may visit the Benefits Enrollment site at any time to update your benefits:
You may enroll in or change coverage only at the following times:
As a New Hire
When you are hired, you will be given 31 days to enroll in benefits. If you enroll on time, your selected benefits will be effective on your date of hire. If you do not enroll by the enrollment deadline, you will receive default coverage, which includes only employer-paid benefits (excluding medical, dental, and vision).Visit the New Hire page for additional information.
During an Annual Open Enrollment Period
Each year you have the opportunity to make changes to your benefit choices for the upcoming calendar year. Your new choices will be effective from January 1st until December 31st of the following year unless you have a qualifying family status change.Your current benefit choices will remain in place if you do not make a change during Open Enrollment. However, to continue making Flexible Spending Account (FSA) contributions, you must re-enroll and select your contribution amount each year.
Due to a Family Status Change
If you have a qualifying family status change, as defined by the IRS, you may make a benefit change during the year, provided the change is consistent with the event. For example, if you have a baby, you can increase coverage to include your new baby.Examples of qualifying family status changes include:
- Birth of a child
- Marital status change
- Dependent loss of eligibility
- Employment status change for you or an eligible dependent
- Change in benefit eligibility for you or an eligible dependent
- Move outside a plan service area
