Eligibility and Enrollment
Employees become eligible for health and welfare plans from the date of hire to 71 years old. Employees will receive an email to select and enroll in benefits.
Heath and Welfare plans are free for employees with the exception of Long-Term Disability. More details for Long-Term Disability costs can be found in the Life and Disability section below.
Health and Welfare Overview
Health and Welfare benefits are available for employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and dependent children. All Health and Welfare plans are provided through Canada Life.

Life and Disability Insurance
|If you are unable to work due to your own serious medical condition, you may be eligible for short-term disability benefits. Your benefit is 75% of your gross weekly pay to a maximum of $1,384 (with evidence). The maximum benefit period is 17 weeks. There is no waiting period for accidents and a 7 day waiting period for illness.|
Long-Term Disability (LTD) provides income replacement after a 120 day waiting period. Long-Term Disability provides a benefit of 68.5% of your gross monthly income up to $2,500, 50.5% for the next $2,500, and 42.5% for the remainder.
Long-Term Disability is paid by employees at the rate of $1.47 per $100 coverage.
Basic Life and AD&D
|The Marvell Benefits Program provides protection for your family or another beneficiary from loss of income and savings in the event of your death or when you are severely injured as a result of an accident. AD&D Insurance provides additional protection to you or your beneficiaries if you die or lose a limb or eyesight due to an accident.
Supplemental Life Insurance
|Employees can apply for additional life insurance for a premium in units of $10,000 to an overall maximum of $300,000 for themselves, $10,000 overall maximum for their spouse, and $5,000 overall maximum for their children.|

Time Off Programs
|Annual Accrual|| Annual leave begins accruing on the first day of employment as applicable. Vacation will be pro-rated based on the hire date.
|Statutory Holidays||To learn more about Canada's holiday schedule please visit the Worldwide Holiday Calendar on ServiceNow.|
|Sick Time||Canadian employees have up to 10 working days of paid sick leave during each year of service. Sick days are annual and do not accumulate.|
|Bereavement Leave||Employees are eligible for 3 days in any year of service in case of death of immediate family (spouse, child, or parents and in-laws of same).|
|Witness Leave||Employees are eligible for 3 days of paid leave for jury/witness leave with the fourth (4th) day being unpaid with job protection.|
|Compassionate Care (Family Medical) Leave||Family Medical Leave is a leave of absence without pay of a duration of up to 27 weeks for employees in British Columbia and up to 28 weeks for employees in Ontario. This leave is made available to employees to allow them to provide care or support to an eligible family member, Family Medical Leave will be provided to employees where: a qualified health practitioner has issued a certificate stating that the family member has a serious medical condition with a significant risk of death within a period of 26 weeks.|
|Pregnancy Leave||Canadian employees may be eligible for up to 17 weeks of pregnancy leave.|
|Parental Leave||New parents have the right to take parental leave of up to 61 or 63 weeks of unpaid time off work. Parents must begin their parental leave no later than 52 weeks after the date the baby is born or the date their child first came into their care, custody, and control and must be taken all at once.

|Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)||The Marvell Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) allows eligible employees to purchase Marvell common stock at a discounted price through payroll deductions of up to 15% of the employee’s salary. This is a 100% voluntary plan.
|Restricted Stock Units||As part of the Focal program, subject to Board of Director approval, Marvell may issue refresh RSUs to employees.|
